It’s all about your Nose and Toes.
When you walk towards someone they are going to notice everything about you…including your shoes. You want them to complete your outfit and harmonise with your face. This short video will share exactly what to look for and how that works.

Choosing the right shoes for your face
HI! It’s Clare Maxfield here from Clare Maxfield Image. As part of my “What Suits My Face” series, I am going to talk to you about what kind of shoes you should be wearing, because shoes have a huge impact on your face.
When you consider when someone’s walking towards you, we do that big loop when we are looking at them, you look at their face and you look at the feet and you come back again and you want some sort of a symmetry.
So, you want to see the lines(shapes) in their face, repeated, ideally in the lines of their shoes. So, what are the three types of lines we are looking for? I break it down into three.
- I put it down for the people who have lovely curvy features. So, they’ve got very rounded eyebrows, they’ve got a very rounded eyes, beautiful rounded nose, full lips and full cheeks. And they are always going to be better in a toe that is slightly round… not quite as round as you could get, but in a very rounded toe. It is going to work with those rounded features.
- Then you’ve got people that have straight lines and angles. They might have the eyebrows that come up and down. They have a very aquiline looking nose; a very fine nose. They will have finer lips and they will have fine cheeks. Actually, everything about them is quite porcelain, quite fine, quite angular. They are always going to be better in a toe that is really quite pointed
- And then you can also get people that are sometime quite square: squared chin and more a flatter and wider nose and straighter eyebrows or almost some sort of… you know, that look. And they are always going to be best in something that is square in nature.
Now, there are those people that don’t do fit exactly into one of those categories. Now, myself, I have a slightly curved eyebrow, I have a round eye, I don’t have a round nose but I have a straight nose. I’ve got a combination of those. I have some rounded lips but they are not really full. So, I am a bit of a combination, which is why I always wear something like this.
This is the ideal shoe for me. This is, as well as this one… Can you see this one kind of goes with my nose? I’ll put it up this way… kind of goes with the line up here. It doesn’t fight with my features.
Now, this shoe, and many of you that have seen me can, to a degree, fight with my features… But you know what? I love it!
Now some of those… if you know the rules, you can always break the rules. And to be honest, guys, the same goes for you… If you find you’ve got straighter eyebrows, find a shoe where the toe of it is straighter and more chiseled.
If you’ve got softer features, more rounded, find a toe that is softer at the end.
They are the rules and the rules can always be broken. But it’s always best to know what ideally suits us.
